GATE 2027 registration: normal fee closes 27 September, late fee window till 5 October
IIT Madras is conducting GATE 2027. Registration without a late fee closes on 27 September 2026, and the exam runs across six days in February 2027.
If you plan an M.Tech or a PSU job next year, apply this week to avoid the late fee.

What is open
Registration for GATE 2027 is open on the official portal, gate2027.iitm.ac.in. The normal fee applies until 27 September 2026. After that, candidates can still apply until 5 October 2026 by paying ₹500 more.
Why GATE matters
GATE scores are used for M.Tech and M.E. admission at IITs, NITs and many other institutes, and some public sector companies use them for recruitment.
Before you apply
Keep a recent photo, signature and category certificate ready, and check the paper code for your branch. Candidates sign in through DigiLocker as part of the registration.
